William Thomas Szaroleta, a warm, personable, and engaging soul, passed away on August 21, 2024, in Toledo Hospital, at the age of 65. Born on February 1, 1959, in Toledo to John "Jas" and Margie (Weiland) Szaroleta, he grew up in the close-knit community of Toledo. Bill was a 1977 graduate of St. Francis de Sales School and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in 1982.
A dedicated family man, Bill married his beloved wife Susie Mossing on August 30, 1986, at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Assumption, Ohio. Together they made an amazing team building a beautiful life together and raising three children who were their pride and joy.
Bill began working for his family business, Szar's Men's Shop in Point Place, at a young age. After a short stint at Owen's Corning, Bill returned to Szar's in 1987. He and his father, Jas, sold suits and ties to thousands of people, taking his time to make sure each one felt respected and important. His passion for the community and genuine care for his customers made Szar's a gathering place where friendships flourished and quality men's clothing was found with a perfect fit. When you stopped at Szar's, you were either meeting with a friend or making one.
Bill is survived by his dear wife Susie, his loving children Michael (Laura Potel) Szaroleta, Timothy (Megan Gaysunas) Szaroleta, and Katherine (Humberto Teran II) Szaroleta. Also surviving are his siblings, Mike (Carol) Szaroleta, Joan (Tony) Lopacki, Tom (Lee) Szaroleta, John (Amy) Szaroleta, and Margie (Dave) Stapleton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
