Steven Roberts

Steven Charles Roberts, a beloved member of the Polish Village community in Toledo, Ohio, passed away July 29, 2024, at the age of 82. Steve was born on December 29, 1941, in Valparaiso, Indiana to William and Mary (Boylan) Roberts, who preceded him in death. Steven faced adversity early in life, losing his leg to cancer at the age of 15. Despite this challenge, he remained resilient and determined and continued to play tennis and basketball.

After graduating from Libbey High School in 1959 and later from The College of Wooster, Steven began his career at IBM before eventually relocating to California. It was upon his return to Toledo in the mid 1970s that he found his soulmate, Elizabeth O Adjayen, whom he married and shared a life filled with love and compassion. Known for his warm personality, generous spirit, and unwavering faith as a devoted Catholic, Steven touched the lives of all who knew him. His kind and gentle nature endeared him to many, reflecting the goodness that resided in his heart.

Steven was a member of Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Catholic Parish and was an Associate Member of The Sisters of Notre Dame. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Adjayen Roberts, his brother, Lawrence (Ann) Roberts, of Portland, OR, and his sister, Karen (Richard) Waugh of Novato, CA. Also surviving are 7 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews. A man of integrity and kindness, Steven leaves behind a legacy of compassion and goodwill.

Steven's Life Celebration will begin Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Saints Adalbert & Hedwig Parish 3233 Lagrange St. Toledo, Ohio, where the Funeral Mass will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Lagrange and East Manhattan Blvd, Toledo. Friends, family, and all who were touched by Steven's presence are invited to join together in remembrance and honor of his life.
