Rex Beard

Rex Russel Beard, age 70 of Oregon, Ohio died in the arms of his loving wife February 26, 2025, at home after battling COPD. Rex was born October 3, 1954, in Taylorville, IL to Burnes “Dutch” and Hattie (Huffmaster) Beard. He worked as a Union Carpenter and retired from Carpenters Local 1138. Rex was an ornery, hardworking man who loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for arrowheads and collecting knives. 

Surviving are his wife Jennifer, his sister Mary Selzer, step daughter Carrie (Tom) Batts, grandchildren: Joshua Beard, Sierra Ramirez, Marilyn Ramirez, Angelica Ramirez, Chase Glenn, and Charity Batts; great grandchildren: Xavier, Saphira, Lilli, Iris, Westyn, DJ, Damien, Auriella, Danerys and Kaine; sisters in law: Colleen (Rick) Spackey, Cathy (Mark) Schulte and Susan Wisda and brothers-in-law Ted (Nancy) Tommy Gill. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews including Connie Marley, Debbie Amar, Jimmy Luttrell, Jeremy Beard and Casey Beard and his special cousin David Beard. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom and John Beard and grandson Ezekial Batts and nephew Mitchell Sexton.

Rex’s visitation will be Wednesday March 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor George Williams Officiating. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions to be given to the funeral home to help the family celebrate Rex’s life.
