Raquel Cook, 66, peacefully gained her angel wings at home on December 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 22,1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Rudy Gonzales and Matilde Saldivar. Later Raquel moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met the love of her life Howard Leon Cook II. They were married on February 7, 1976. "Lee" was taken from Raquel too early, but he remained the love of her life as she continued to raise their six children in a loving home. Her most cherished times were the ones she spent with her children, grandchildren and family. Her door was always open and you could expect a house full of relatives and neighbors at all times, as she dedicated her life to taking care of others. Whether a grandchild needed guidance, a baby needed soothing or a relationship needed mending, she would give her advice and share her lifetime of wisdom without judgment. Raquel loved to cook and it was always known that you would receive a delicious meal from her kitchen. She takes with her many recipes we all wish we had. Times will definitely be changed as she leaves behind a large family. Surviving are her six children Johnny (Monica) Barnosky, Howard (Jill) Cook III, Bobbie-Jo (Danny) Pegish, Priscilla (Edward) Zaborski, Christopher (Kim)Cook, and Michael (Michelle)Cook. Her siblings Jesusa Wahl, Joe Reyna, Richard Luna, Matilda Saldivar, Rudy Saldivar, Consuelo Canterbury, Cynthia Castilleja, and April Saldivar, 32 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends Shirley Allen, Sandra Henderson, and Betty Gwiner. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Cook II, infant daughter Ruby, parents Rudy Gonzales, Matilde and Rudy Saldivar.
