Nathan R. Bigelow age 28 of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 8, 2022. Nathan was born March 2, 1994, in Oregon, Ohio to James and Lisa (Pyle) Bigelow. Nathan was thoughtful, caring, artistic and articulate. He loved spending time with his family and was a fantastic big brother to Alex. Nathan started hockey at age 11 and fell in love with the sport. He played on the Sylvania Maple Leafs and the Toledo Cherokee travel teams and made many friends throughout his hockey career. He was a 2012 graduate of St. John’s High School where he was a captain of the hockey team. In life Nathan faced many challenges. His path took him in directions of hope, love and ultimately peace.

Surviving are his parents, Jim (Linda) Bigelow and Lisa (Josh Lana) Bigelow, brother Alex Bigelow, grandparents, Kay Bigelow, Jackie Rower, Steve and Diane Pyle, Uncles Mike (Dawn) Bigelow, Dan Pyle, Sam Pyle, and Aunt Sarah (John) Kaseman. Also surviving are step brothers, Justin Furry, Brendan Furry and Nolan Furry. Preceding Nathan in death was his grandfather Ed Bigelow.

Nathan’s Life Celebration will be on Wednesday November 16, from 3 until 8 pm at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10 am in the funeral home with interment following in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Cherry Street Mission or the Northwest Ohio Food Bank.
