Mary Christine Rahman

Mary C Rahman, age 80, passed away January 28th, 2025 at Hampton Manor of Bedford surrounded by family and friends. Mary was born on March 19th, 1944 in Mayfield Kentucky to Harold and Victoria (Toon) Burge. She graduated from Libby High School June 7th, 1962 and went on to marry her late husband, Robert Rahman on May 22nd, 1965.                                                                                             

 As a teenager Mary worked at Tiedtke’s Department Store and then at a local bank before embarking on a 40 year career with Apple Creek Realty where her co-workers and boss became family. Mary was often the life of the party with her exuberant personality and enjoyed time with friends and family playing games, entertaining and traveling. One of her passions was joining her Apple Creek family hitting the slots in Las Vegas and at the Hollywood Casino.                                       

In 2015, Mary was diagnosed with dementia. She moved to Hampton Manor of Bedford in October of 2023 where she delighted in resident games like noodle-ball, Yahtzee, and Bingo. Just as Mary settled into her new surroundings she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.                                                              

Surviving are her daughter Tamra Rahman, son Robert (Kerri) Rahman, 4 grandsons Andrew, Brandon (Jordyn), Seth and Trent, along with great grandsons Lucas and Blake. Also surviving is her sister Donna (Burge) Kiefer. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rahman, her parents Harold and Victoria Burge, and her brother Edward Burge.                          

Mary’s Life Celebration will take place at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Monday February 3, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. 

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
