It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Luther Steenrod, a loving husband, devoted father, and respected entrepreneur, who unexpectedly departed this world at the age of 81 in his home in Holland, Ohio on September 21, 2024. Jerry was born on February 17, 1943, in Quincy, Ohio, to Clifton and Mildred Steenrod. He was joined in marriage to his beloved wife, Barbara Muszynski, on June 23, 1962, at St. Hyacinth Church, in Toledo. His life was a testament to hard work, compassion, and the joy of family.
A graduate of Jackson Center High School, Jerry's thirst for knowledge led him to further his education at Stautzenberger College, where he studied drafting. He then began his career as a purchasing agent for Binkelman Bearings. His dedication to continuous learning and growth served as an inspiration to all who knew him. Jerry's legacy extends beyond to his successful career as Vice President of Automatic Handling. However, it was his role as a provider, protector, and loving husband to Barbara, with whom he celebrated over six decades of marriage, that truly defined him.
Jerry's passion for sports, particularly golf at Stone Oak Country Club, and tennis at Westowne and Shadow Valley, brought him immense joy and camaraderie. His love for fishing in serene Canadian waters, the Great Lakes and the vibrant Florida Keys showcased his adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature's beauty.
Gerald Luther Steenrod leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Barbara, his cherished children, Shelley (Phil) Hallee, Bradley (Heidi) Steenrod, Brian (Kristi) Steenrod, and Greg (Heather) Steenrod and his dear brother Larry (Jean) Steenrod. Also, mourning his loss are grandchildren Forest, Clay, Hayat and Fetiha Hallee, Brittany Heckman, Jessica (Drew) Keele, and Jacob (Haley) Steenrod, Sloane Steenrod, Drew (Ashley), Annabel and Alexander Steenrod and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his siblings, Donald Steenrod, Robert Steenrod, Sarah Regula, Janice Burch, Carol Ann Steenrod and Naomi Wildermuth.
