Dorothy Mehki

On August 5, 2024, Dorothy Joyce Mehki, a former Sylvania school bus driver, passed away at the age of 91 in Swanton Valley Rehabilitation Center Swanton, Ohio. Dorothy, a loving grandmother and former resident of Sylvania, Ohio, was born on November 15, 1932, in Toledo to Walter and Mildred (DeWyse) Warnke. A 1950 graduate of Burnham High School in Sylvania, Dorothy worked as a school bus driver for Sylvania Schools for over 30 years. She retired from the job she loved in her late 70's. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a passion for gardening and decorating her home for the holidays.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Lorraine Hugill, Brian Ducat, and Herb Ducat, as well as her grandchildren, Kristopher Hugill, Eric (Darlie) Hugill, Marissa (Kimberly) Champoux-Lott, Ashley (Alex) Popyk, Jonathan Lott, Cheyne Ducat, and John Ducat. Her great-grandchildren Maison Hugill, Karielle Atkinson, Kohlton Hugill and Nadia Popyk will forever cherish her memory. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Russell Mehki.

A visitation to honor and remember Dorothy will take place on Thursday, August 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home located at 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
