Donald Paul Nieckarz, age 79 of Toledo, Ohio died October 8, 2024, at Ebeid Hospice. Donald was born June 28, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph and Louise (Bartnik) Nieckarz.
Don was a kind and quiet man who showed his love for family and friends by his deeds. He was known for giving flowers to his wife in the middle of winter, taking beach trips with delicious meals on vacations, being a proud "Pieto" to granddaughter Melanie Kate Amann and always loving grandsons, William, Benjamin, Charlie and granddaughter Emily Nieckarz.
In his younger years, he was an excellent baseball pitcher and hitter. He stayed involved in the game by coaching Little League as an adult. He was also a well-known Toledo area bowler who won many junior and adult championships in the area.
Don served in the National Guard of Ohio 585th Military Police Company from 1965 until 1971. He was employed at Chrysler Jeep for more than 36 years. After retirement, he worked for The Toledo Blade for several years.
