David M. Kachelek would like you to know that he had an important meeting that he had to attend and will not be returning. David went to his meeting with our Lord on January 8, 2022. He will be reunited with his family and friends in the most celestial place called Heaven.
Waiting for him to arrive are his parents: Roy and Lottie, siblings: Sister Ruth Marie Kachelek, OSF and Gloria Mohr, nieces: Holly and Heather Mohr and nephew Greg Mohr, his first wife Roseann (Lovette) and second wife Charlene (Fair).
Surviving are his children: Kathy and Bruce DeCant, Michael and Frank Kachelek, Niece and nephew: Cindi and Jeff Scherzer, Tim Mohr and great Niece and nephews: Scott Scherzer, Shane Davis and Hayley Mohr.
David was a hard-working family man. His faith and family were his top priorities. He was an usher and Communion distributor at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral for many years. David was proud that he worked for the Lucas County Engineer Road Maintenance division located in Maumee, Ohio, from which he retired. After retirement, David wasn’t ready to settle down, so he sought employment at the Toledo Riverfront Hotel where he received the Employee of the Month award in August 2007. In 2013, David moved to Rosary Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio. He thrived in his new home. You could always find “King David” as he was affectionately called by the Sisters and staff, at the Bingo game or crafting something. His family nick named him the Mayor of Rosary Care. David rooted for his New York Yankees and OSU Buckeyes O H……I O.
