Daniel C. Tyburski age 66 of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 11, 2024, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. Daniel was born February 22, 1958, in Toledo to David and Joyce (Pennock) Tyburski. A 1976 Woodward High School graduate, he played baseball and basketball and was an All City and All district basketball player and will be inducted into the Woodward Hall of Fame in March of 2025. Dan married his high school sweetheart, Joan Pomorski October 22, 1983, in St. Adalbert Church. They were blessed with sons Danny and Jeff, their pride and joy, who brought them happiness, laughter and two beautiful families. Dan was a devout Catholic his whole life. He was a member of St. Adalberts for 30 years and St. Catherine for 36 years where he coached basketball and was on the church advisory committee. Best of all, he was able to watch his boys play many sports from grade school until they finished high school at St. Francis de Sales. Dan says the best part of his family was getting to joke around with his beloved grandchildren while watching them grow up and mentor them when they were playing the many different sports they love. He will forever be their biggest cheerleader in whatever they do.
Dan started his career working at Libbey-Owens-Ford, LOF where he worked until 1983 when he began working at the Toledo Jeep plant. A 37-year Jeep Retiree, he worked in production for 11 years and as a videographer for 26 years. He documented via video and still pictures the demolition of the entire Jeep Pkwy facility and the construction of Toledo Assembly Complex and supplier park, including the resumption of Jeep production at the new plant. Dan was a member of the UAW staff for many years working for 7 UAW chairmen and 7 plant managers. Dan was instrumental in starting and chairing the Jeep Employee Legends Run, a charity motorcycle event for 17 years. This event consisted of all Jeep employees who rode Harley Davidson motorcycles and built Jeeps, two American Icons.
Always active in his community, he was on the Advisory Committee of the Northwest Ohio Polish Cultural Center, formerly a board member of Jeep Country Federal Credit Union, a member of the UAW Local 12 where he is on the retiree committee, and he is a past President and Board member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA).
Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Joan, his sons, Danny (Beth) Tyburski and Jeff (Erica) Tyburski, brothers, David and Joseph Tyburski, sister, Julie Cooper and sisters in law Sandy Tyburski and Mary Euler.
