Billy Snyder April 15, 1932 – February 12, 2022
With great sorrow we inform family and friends of the passing of our father BJ (Billy) Snyder who met our Lord on Saturday, February 12.
Billy was brought into this world 89 years ago on Tax Day, April 15, 1932 by his parents Willard K. and Mary S. Snyder. He relished his upbringing in the “Kuschwantz” neighborhood along with his cousins Bernie, Rita, Dick, Tommy and Jimmy. Billy was honored to have been an altar boy at St. Stanislaus. Then he moved to bigger and better things graduating from Libbey High School in 1950.
Billy met his “one and only” Rose (Stasiak) Urbanski. They were soon married on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954. They had fun raising their two sons, Jeff and Gregg on Lowell Street.
Billy frequently worked two jobs to support his family. He always liked to reminisce about working at Toledo Music and Novelty along with Grinnell Bros. But the real stories came from the BJ Snyder Realty that Billy founded in 1963. The business quickly grew into 4 offices, with the main office located in the Spitzer Arcade. In the late 70’s Snyder Realty was part of the original Century 21 brokers in the Toledo area.
Travel and Florida became a big attraction to Billy and Rose, some would say part-time job! They visited all 50 states and traveled abroad extensively, losing count after 18 countries. They would enjoy their condo on Pompano Beach during the winter months. Rose preceded Billy in meeting our Lord on November 10, 2015 after 61 years of marriage. Billy lived in Eagle Point Colony for 52 years loving the river view.
Surviving are Gregg (Linda) Snyder, Jeffrey (Mary Jo Clark) Urbanski, Sister-In-Law Nancy Stearns, 5 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
