Karl Johnson
September/4/1941 - August/28/2022

Karl Johnson age 80 of Toledo passed away in his residence on Sunday August 28, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on September 4, 1941 in Toledo to Karl and Delores (Durbin) Johnson. Karl was a general laborer and worked hard for much of his life until his 70's. After finally retiring he worked part-time in the Hylant building for 9 1/2 years as a security guard where he would always tell the people leaving to “drive slowly because your house will be there when you get there”. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. In his younger years Karl was very good at playing baseball, he had to turn down a tryout with the Detroit Tigers because of a hand Injury. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time and doing things for his family. He loved the New York Yankees and collected baseball cards. Karl was a member of the Zablocki Senior Center for many years, he will be known for randomly howling. He would also tell people “I will put you up on the roof” and “ don’t look back your feet are following you”.

After years of battling Alhziemers he is now at rest with his parents, Son Karl Johnson Jr, brothers Dennis, Art and Rick and sister Vivian and grandchildren Jonathon Michael Chamberlin and Kyle Pressnell. He is survived by his wife of 44 ½ years Kathleen (You), children Sherry Chamberlin, Patricia Johnson, Tony Johnson, Charles Pressnell, Frank Pressnell, Matt Johnson and Stacy Johnson, brother Patrick Johnson and numerous Grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 2907 Lagrange St Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday September 14, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Elara Caring Hospice for all the help you gave us during Karl’s end of life journey.

The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 2907 Lagrange St Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday September 14, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m.
