Obituaries - In Loving Memory

Roy David Braden II
January/17/1939 - April/26/2022

Mr. Roy David Braden II was born January 17, 1939 to Roy Braden Sr and Juila (Yeager), in Toledo, Ohio. Roy passed away on Tuesday April 26, 2022 in his home in the presence of his loving and devoted wife and son Mark.
Roy attended Toledo Public Schools. While attending High School he loved playing golf. Roy was very good at golfing Betty said that he could have went pro. After high school, he enlisted in the National Guards and served his country for six years.
Roy gave his life to Christ at very young age.
He united in holy matrimony to Betty (Hale) Braden on July 25, 1961, in that union four sons were born
Roy David III, Michael Anthony, Mark Anthony, and Guy William.
Roy worked several jobs before becoming employed with Jeep. He worked in different departments where he was a supervisor in several of them. Co-workers believed in Roy’s leadership that they voted him union steward twice. Roy retired after working 30 long years.
After retirement you could find Roy going to the record store buying and collecting old vinyl albums for the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music. He loved the Blues and you could hear him blasting his music on Friday nights and early Saturday mornings. Betty and Roy would fish around the great lakes of Ohio with their sons and family members. Mr. Roy was that kind of neighbor that would keep you updated on all the neighbors. We use to say, who needs the “White pages when we got “Roy”.
In the year of 2015 Roy met Jeffrey Johnson, a neighbor across the street from him on Spring Street. Roy and Jeffrey were more than neighbors they were Best of friends. If Roy needed anything fixed in the home, he knew he could count on Jeffrey to do so. Jeffrey made a promise to Mr. Roy that he would look after him and Betty until the Good Lord calls one of them home. On April 27th in the year of 2022 the Lord came at 11:30am, Roy looked at his family and saw Heaven and decided to leave this earthly world to be with his love ones that went before him.
Roy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years Betty, son Mark Anthony, and granddaughter Rose Marie Canning, step sister Irene, Brother& sister-in-law, Danny (Kathy) Hale of Toledo, Ohio, Best friend Mr. Jeffrey J. Johnson, and host of loving nieces, nephews other Family and friends.
