Edward M. Ciesielski

Edward Ciesielski, age 92 of Sylvania, Ohio passed away April 12, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice. Ed was born September 14, 1929 in Toledo, to Edward and Helen (Majewski) Ciesielski. A 1948 Woodward High School graduate, he also graduated in 1952 from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Ed worked for Seaway Foodtown where he retired as Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering in 1996. He married Eleanor Blaser June 17, 1950 and they were married for 26 years until her passing April 12, 1976. Ed was blessed to meet the second love of his life in 1977, Carol Zajac, who had also lost a spouse and they were devoted to each other until her death in 2015.

Preceding Ed in death were his parents, his wife Eleanor, his devoted “forever fiancé” Carol Zajac, sister, Rose Zalecki, son in law, John Gaertner and Cleet Champion. Surviving are his loving children James (Deb) Ciesielski, Diana (Andy) Dobrzanski, Linda Gaertner, Cindy (Mike) Lennex and Marsha (Jeff) Jackisch. He was lovingly embraced by Carol’s daughter Mary Kay (Jordan) Urbanski. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and Carol’s 3 grandchildren.

Memorial Services
Ed’s Life Celebration will begin Monday April 18, 2022 from 2 pm until 8 pm at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will continue Tuesday April 19 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Regina Coeli Church 530 Regina Pkwy Toledo, Ohio 43612 where the funeral Mass will begin at 10 am. with Fr. George Mahas officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Toledo, Ohio.
