James H. Kurth, Jr.

James H. Kurth, Jr. age 78 of West Toledo, passed away March 28, 2022 in Sunset Village Sylvania, Ohio. James was born January 11, 1944 in Toledo to James and Betty (Tarr) Kurth, Sr. Jim played football for Bedford High School where he graduated in 1962. He married Sally Moreno March 2, 1973. He worked for the DeVilbiss Company until they closed and was a bus driver for Toledo Public Schools. Jim was an avid Red Wings, Tigers and Lions fan and his favorite college team was the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing with his family and loved dancing with his wife. Jim especially enjoyed being together with his family during holidays and watching his son play hockey.

Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years Sally, sisters Barbara (Ron) Genson, Frances Kurth, sister in law, Linda Kurth and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, son James Kurth III and brother Robert Kurth.

Memorial Services
Jim’s Life Celebration will be Thursday March 31, from 2 until 7 pm at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will continue Friday April 1, from 10 until 11 am in St. Clement Catholic Church Toledo, Ohio where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private in Toledo Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Ashanti Hospice and Sunset Village for their compassion and care the past 2 years.
