Theresa "Terri" Marie (Kunkel) Wozniak
April/26/1935 - October/28/2021

Theresa Marie (Kunkel) Wozniak passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2021. Theresa was born to Blanche and William Kunkel on April 26, 1935. She grew up on Hobart Street in Toledo surrounded by family. Theresa had a special bond with her cousin, Rita (Kunkel) Jagodzinski. They were soul sisters, best friends and confidants. Theresa attended St. Peter and Paul elementary school. After moving to west Toledo, she attended and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. Theresa then worked as a secretary for the State of Ohio until retirement.
Theresa loved her family, Notre Dame football and her Catholic faith. She loved reciting the rosary and attending mass. She was fondly nicknamed Saint Theresa because of what an absolutely beautiful person she was inside and out. She was so kind and thoughtful every day of her life. Theresa also loved shopping and finding gifts for her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Theresa married Joe Wozniak in 1988 and became a beloved stepmom to Joe’s four children. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents William, Sr. and Blanche; siblings Mary Ann Pozy, William “Bill” Jr, Bernard “Bernie,” and Gerald “Jerry;” husband Joe (on August 5th of this year). She is survived by her stepchildren Michael Wozniak, Debra (Mike) Marvin, Marianne Reape, and James (Tricia) Wozniak; granddaughters Aimee (Jeff), Danielle (Nick), Morgan (Matt), Madison (Alex), Lauren, and Rachel; great granddaughter Alex and great grandson Lucas (who Grandma Terri said had smiling eyes); sisters-in law Ethel, Candy, Tricia; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thank you to Judi Jagodzinski (Rita’s daughter) for staying with Theresa, reminiscing, making her smile and laugh. The care and safety you provided is appreciated. Thank you also to Theresa’s Hospice nurse, Renee.

The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Tuesday November 2, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Additional viewing will be on Wednesday November 3, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church where the funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Calvary cemetery.
