Paul A. "Jake" Jakubowski
February/22/1937 - February/24/2021

Paul A. "Jake" Jakubowski, age 84, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2021. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 22, 1937 to Ernest and Carrie (Dlugiewicz) Jakubowski. He married Joan (Musial) on November 26, 1960 at St. Adalbert's Church.

Paul retired from the Toledo Blade after 44 years of service in advertising, retiring in 2000.

Throughout Paul's life, he impacted the community in several positive ways including "Santa" to thousands of children for over 60 years. He enjoyed the "Magic" of Christmas and the smiles on all of their faces. Paul was a Eucharistic Minister with his wife Joan, for over 30 years, was active in the Old Newsboys, Boy Scouts of America, and other organizations.

Paul was a graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School ('56) and attended the University of Toledo. His pride and joy was his family. He enjoyed fishing, boating, good friends and an occasional "cold" beverage. Some of Paul's words of wisdom included, "How's your day been up til now?" "Thanks for coming in today" and even in his last few days, when someone asked him how are you doing, he would say, "Today is the best day of my life!"

Paul is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Joan; sons, John (Sue), Mark, and Alan (Michelle); grandchildren, Paul (Nikki), Carrie, Maximus, Gianna, Giselle and Ellera; great grand-children, Clayton and Isaac. Also surviving is his sister, Felician Sister Sandra Jakubowski, nieces and nephews, numerous friends, especially Paul G. Miller. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Kotula, Rose Bogdanski; brothers, Edward, Arthur, John, Walter, Daniel, and Melvin.

Paul’s visitation will be Tuesday March 2, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 1:00 p.m. in St. Adalbert Catholic Church 3233 Lagrange St. Toledo, Ohio 43608. Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo Ohio is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the support provided by the Kingston Care Center, Sylvania, Ohio and the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made to the Hospice of NW Ohio, or St's. Adalbert and Hedwig Parish, Toledo, Ohio.
