Donald G. LaVoy

Donald G. LaVoy age 67 of Toledo, passed away January 25, 2021 in St. Ann Mercy Hospital after a long battle with Covid 19. Donald was born April 25, 1953 in Toledo to George and Florence (Nachtrab) LaVoy and attended Blessed Sacrament grade school. After graduating St. Francis DeSales High School in 1971, he attended the University of Toledo. Don was always active in his children’s lives as a loving father and a coach. Following his coaching he continued his love of sports as an umpire. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of Christ the King Church where he was an usher. Don loved playing cards, board games and rooting for his favorite sports teams.

Surviving are his loving children Nicholas (Crystal) LaVoy and Krista LaVoy, his siblings, Marilyn Hemmert and Michael (April) LaVoy, brother in law, Jim Bayer and his grandchildren, Mackenzie and Alexa LaVoy. Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Kathy Bayer.

Memorial Services
To keep the public safe Don’s funeral Mass will be held privately in Christ the King Catholic Church Saturday January 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Father William Rose officiating. Friends are encouraged to view remotely by logging onto cktoledo.org and go to Streamspot. Interment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio assisted the family.
