Gary Reichlin

Gary Reichlin, 75, died December 17, 2020 at ProMedica Flower Hospital.

Gary, a lifelong Toledo resident, was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and Miami (Ohio) University. He was a teacher both in occupation and in life. Family, friends and students at Franklin Elementary School and East Toledo Junior High School had the opportunity to learn the value of an uncompromising moral compass and a hearty laugh from a well-timed and perfectly delivered joke, pun or observation.

He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 53 years; children, Andy (Kari) Reichlin of Exton, PA and Leslie (Jim) Gill of Sylvania, OH; five grandchildren – Jake, Ryan and Megan Gill and Cameron and Jack Reichlin – that brought him tremendous joy; and countless friends. His passion in recent years was watching his grandchildren play sports, dominating fantasy football, rooting for Michigan, attending local high school games with friends, finding a bargain and, as always, making others smile. Fond memories continue to offer comfort as stories of adoration and respect are retold to reminisce about moments in time shared with Gary that will last a lifetime.

No service will be held to be socially responsible and help end the virus that tragically took his life. Donations can be sent in his name to a charity of choice. Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home assisted the family with arrangements.
