Jeanne Marie Wilt
January/29/1928 - December/19/2018

Jeanne Marie (neƩ Behr) Wilt, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in her home at American House in Holland, MI. She was born January 29, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to Mary Anna Schrafl and Joseph William Behr. She was a graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School and Duquesne University.

She met John James "Jack" Wilt while working for Trans World Airlines as a reservation agent and they were married on June 27, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA. They also lived in Cleveland, OH and Dearborn, MI before moving to Toledo, OH in 1965. Later, when her children were in high school, she worked as a saleswoman at Jacobson's Department Store in Toledo, winning accolades for her great customer service and her sales records in Teen and Pre-Teen Clothing. She was active for many years in her parish, Little Flower Catholic Church, particularly on the Altar Rosary Society and as one of the volunteers who assist with funeral luncheons at the church. In 2015, she moved to Holland, MI.

Jeanne is survived by her four children, Jeanne Marie (Paul) Yhouse of Holland, MI; John James Wilt, Jr. of Manassas Park, VA; Patrick Joseph Wilt (Molly Whittaker) of Leesburg, VA; and Mark Christopher Wilt of Washington, D.C.; her sister-in-law, Mary Kathleen "Kathie" Behr of Pittsburgh, PA; and her brother-in-law, Robert Francis Wilt of North Ridgeville, OH. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, after 39 years of marriage, her parents, all of her siblings -- Mary Elizabeth "Toots" Behr, Reverend Joseph Andrew "Bud" Behr, George Edward Behr, Robert William Behr, and Francis Charles Behr, her dear friend, Lois Holtz, and her beloved dogs: Max, a cocker spaniel, Sam, a schnauzer, and Angie, the loveable stray that became part of the family.

Jeanne loved crossword and jigsaw puzzles, classic literature, playing Yahtzee, watching Father Brown mysteries, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching Phil Mickelson play golf, and sipping morning coffee and happy hour chardonnay. She gave all of her children a great love of reading, making sure each received a good book as a Christmas gift each year.
